- In real life, fusion is the merging of two lighter atoms to form a heavier
- one. The most common form of fusion occurs inside the Sun, with hydrogen
- fusing to form helium. The actual game has nothing to do with any of this.
-
- Fusion is a game of falling multicolor bricks. Connect blocks of the same
- color to make them disappear. Critical mass is level plus two. So on level
- one, you need three blocks to make them disappear. On level two, you need
- four. On level nine you need eleven blocks. Big piles are worth more points
- than several smaller piles. Connections may be horizontal, vertical or
- diagonal.
-
- On level two and above a special chain reaction rule is in effect. The energy
- created by a fusion reaction lowers the threshold for any blocks remaining.
- For example, on level three when you fuse a pile of five blocks, all piles
- of four also fuse. If a pile of four goes, the program checks for piles of
- three. Piles of two are never set off.
-
- Demo mode is activated if you don't choose a level and speed within 45
- seconds. Blocks appear in all columns during the demo; in a real game
- blocks always come in on column four.
-
- You may use the 4, 5, 6 keys or the left arrow, up arrow and right arrow
- as alternatives to j, k, l. Joysticks and mice are not supported (sorry).
- Fusion is written in Borland's Turbo Pascal and was completed in April 1990.
